The leading Wind-Optimized PV (WOPV) technology
Designed for PV module and solar glass manufacturers

A passive, field-proven approach to reducing dust accumulation in PV modules — designed for OEM integration
Soiling is not just an operational issue
Dust-related losses are typically addressed through cleaning, coatings, or maintenance.
These approaches treat symptoms — not the root cause.
Dust accumulation is a design problem
What is Wind-Optimized PV (WOPV)?
A passive, physics-based design method that uses wind-activated MicroThreads to prevent long-term dust accumulation in PV modules, throughout the panel’s entire lifetime.
Why WOPV works
Natural wind induces continuous micro-movement in the MicroThreads.
This ongoing disturbance prevents dust particles from settling into stable layers on the module surface.
The goal is not to remove dust — but to prevent its accumulation.

Proven in the field
WOPV has been tested in real outdoor environments over multiple years and across diverse climates.
Validation is based on more than five years of accumulated field experience, spanning dozens of sites and over 5,000 PV modules.
Results show consistent long-term behavior driven by underlying physics rather than site-specific conditions, with a typical observed energy uplift of ~1–2%.

Dust reaches the surface but does not form a stable layer.
Why Dustoss
Dustoss developed and validated the Wind-Optimized PV (WOPV) method through long-term, real-world field deployments.
We combine patented technology with deep engineering know-how to enable OEM adoption of WOPV within existing manufacturing flows.
Dustoss is the leading WOPV technology provider.

Designed for manufacturers
For PV module manufacturers
Add a passive design advantage without changing your production philosophy or introducing operational risk.
For solar glass manufacturers
Integrate WOPV principles at the glass stage, upstream of module assembly.
WOPV integration is designed to fit within existing production flows.
How standards begin
Many PV design features — from anti-reflective coatings to bifacial modules — began as optional innovations before becoming industry standards.
Early adopters influence acceptance, benchmarks, and best practices.
WOPV is at that stage today.

A conversation worth having
Dustoss works with manufacturers and partners to define how WOPV is integrated into real production environments.
Conversations typically focus on integration paths, validation requirements, and long-term performance behavior.
